Snr Professional Nurse - Medical Ward & Emergency Unit

As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Snr Professional Nurse - Medical Ward & Emergency Unit based in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. The Snr Professional Nurse - Medical Ward & Emergency Unit is to support the Unit Manager in ensuring a safe and positive client experience by mitigating clinical risks and co-ordinating care delivery. They further provide direct patient care, as well as mentorship to new and student nurses in the unit.

Responsibilities:

• Pharmacology
• Nursing record keeping
• Nursing processes and procedures
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Relevant nursing legislation
• Infection prevention and control
• Scientific nursing principles and process
• Audit patient records
• Patient assessment skills
• Develop/ modify a nursing care plan
• Risk identification
• Analysing and interpretation skills
• Mentorship

Requirements:

• Registered nurse with a valid SANC registration
• 3 years Professional Nurse experience in a private hospital
• 1 year mentor experience
• Post basic qualification advantageous
• Basic life support trained
• For specialised wards; ACLS; ATLS; PALS trained;

Salary: Market related
