Site Manager Mining

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure that all construction activities within the designated areas are well planned, coordinated and utilize all available resources in coordination with other functional Managers in directing and supervising all involved site personnel and subcontractors when required.
2. Lead and ensure all work groups are properly guided, in close cooperation with the Project Manager, in assembling and controlling the required resources (manpower, equipment, materials and tools required) to start and sustain work efficiency and productivity until the completion of the project.
3. Advise Management in determining the need and procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specific times to conform to the workloads, plans and schedules.
4. Interact with other construction areas and Supervisors, discuss and review with Management the project Key Performance Indicators to determine the accurate status of the project, making tactical decisions for allocating resources and assigning staff requirements to maintain the project on target.
5. Supervise and motivate construction workers and/or workforce.
6. Conduct and maintain quality control checks and safety inspections; check and prepare site reports.
7. Day-to-day problem solving and dealing with any issues that arise.
8. Ensure that OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) policies are adhered to.
9. Keep OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) files up to date.
10. Overall management and delivery of surface and underground construction.
11. Provide input and advice on construction issues pertaining to scheduling, cost-saving measures, potential construction problems and procurement of material and equipment.
12. Ensure all site construction activities comply with quality and legislative requirements.
13. Build solid relationships with management and employees to enable effective management and cooperation.
14. Drive a sound and positive relationship with internal stakeholders including Mine Workers and construction employees.
15. Installation of pipes.
16. Ensure that compliance files are kept updated e.g., Safety file, PTO, Early Shift and Lock Out, etc.
17. Coordinate the planning with engineering construction planner: Monthly schedule, Monthly target focus and actual focus review.
18. Manage and communicate the monthly plan.
