Site Manager/General Foreman
Qualifications:
- N6 or National Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering
- Trade Test & Wireman’s Licence
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 - 10 years proven experience in Water and Sanitation, or pumps and panels
- Knowledge and experience with Electrical Maintenance
- Knowledge of Government Infrastructure regulations (advantageous)
- Must have excellent computer skills
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to cope well under pressure
- Valid driver’s licence
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducting routine inspections and servicing of maintenance.
- Implementing the preventative maintenance plan.
- Manage workshop and tools.
- Maintaining and conducting general maintenance.
- Housekeeping and managing of safety standards within the Water Treatment Plant according to the OHS Act, relevant legislation, and codes.
- Work closely with the Team on various technical matters.
- Prepare orders and obtain authorization from the End-user and Project Manager for purchasing of materials.
- Ability to use work order system.
- Conduct quality audits of all the Water Treatment facility before inviting the client for approval.
- Conduct walkabouts and compile snag lists.
- Assist Project Manager in implementing snag corrections or renovations and report back to the Project Manager.
- Station at the site to measure up and do monitoring of the Project.
- Arrange and attend meetings with suppliers, employer, and maintenance team.
- Take minutes of meetings.
- Provide progress updates to the Project Manager and/or Executive Management on a Weekly and Monthly basis.
- Manage and liaise with the client.
- Maintain the filing system of documents and plans.
- Day-to-day duties:
- Supervise workers and subcontractors.
- Help project manager to plan work.
- Manage orders and deliveries of construction materials.
- Organize staff work schedules.
- Check work is carried out safely.
- Complete records for site reports.
- Attend site briefings.
Additional Information:
This position will only be afforded preferably to candidates residing in Johannesburg/Pretoria, Gauteng Province.
