Responsibilities:
Oversee all construction activities related to company requirements for that project.
Management, with the company Health and Safety Officer, of the HSE file on site.
Ensure that it is up to date with the relevant documentation and daily checks and toolbox talks.
Liaise with SHEQ representatives to ensure functional and complete functioning of SHEQ within all activities.
Assist the SHEQ manager in management of the SHEQ representatives with regards to site requirements.
Daily reporting of progress must be recorded and sent through to the relevant project engineer for updating.
Ensure that all construction activities within the designated areas are well planned, coordinated and be able to utilize all available resources in coordination with other functional Managers in directing and supervising all involved site personnel and subcontractors
Lead and ensure all work groups are properly guided, in close cooperation with the Team Leader, in assembling and controlling the required resources (manpower, equipment, materials and tools required) to start and sustain the work efficiency and productivity until the completion of the project.
Inspects work in progress to ensure conformity with QA/QC specifications and requirements, Industry Codes, Standards and Procedures, client requirements and provides technical advices to resolve problems
Advises the Team Leader in determining the need and procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specific times in order to conform to the workloads, plans and schedules.
Ensure the accurate and timely collection and recording of quality and work progress on a daily basis. (photos, QITPs, daily diaries, etc.)
Pegging of fixation positions whether rooftop, fixed tilt ground mount, carport, single axis tracker or other
Fixing foundations using the appropriate method indicated by the site manager, project manager or other.
This may include overseeing drilling for the embedment of foundations
Constructing the tables upon which the modules sit
Mounting modules to the tables whether rooftop, fixed tilt ground mount, carport, single axis tracker or other
DC stringing of modules and making good on the cable management should this be required
On occasion there may be requirements to perform works away from that indicated above.
The employee will be required to perform these tasks as directed to ensure completion of works.
The project will only be deemed complete once the quality control sign off document has been signed by the client.
Vehicle and/or Plant use
Overseeing the signing of daily toolbox talks and DSTIs
Record and report all Tools and equipment use
Issuing and managing employment contracts of temporary workers for site specific requirements.
Ensure that all equipment, plant, machinery and vehicles on site have relevant certificates, tests, services, inspections, etc. as required by client and legislation
Ensure all personnel on site have had the required training, induction, medicals, psychometrics, etc. in order to carry out their work
Complies with the highest level of quality, health, safety and environmental standards during all stages of project execution and pro‐active with safety groups and subcontractors to promote safe and hazardous free work within the designated area
Issuing of warnings be it verbal or formal to site personnel found to be in contravention of the rules of the company and its subsidiaries.
The direct line manager must be involved in the process of issuing warnings.
Finalising the quality control sign offs with the client on site.
This must be in accordance with the quality control procedures and sign off documentation.
Interacting with the client, providing updates on the progress being made on site as well as resolution to on site issues.
