Tool changes, feeder changes and raw material changes.
Responsible for timeous, correct line set-ups and changeovers.
Managing the production shift to ensure optimal efficiencies.
Take full responsibility for process and product quality.
Monitor and inspect machines and equipment to maintain a high level of mechanical performance.
Analyse process and product deviations and perform trouble shooting and adjustments.
High focus on OEE indicators (Availability, Performance, Quality).
Maintain team morale and discipline – control attendance and punctuality and keeping of records.
Keep production area and facilities in a clean and organised condition.
Responsible for shift safety and a good safety culture of the team.
Drive Lean operational excellence activities such as 5S, set-ups, autonomous maintenance, root cause & corrective action, rapid problem solving, FIFO, tier meetings and skills development.
Do maintenance work on shift as required and assist with general maintenance activities.
Requirements:
Technical qualification.
Minimum N3 artisan or equivalent.
5+ years in manufacturing environment (extrusion experience advantageous).
2+ years in a position that supervised / managed a team.
