Shift Supervisor

Our Johannesburg branch based in Kempton Park is looking for a Shift Supervisor.

Overview

Right Side Up is looking for an experienced Shift Supervisor who will organize, direct, supervise, evaluate and is responsible for the warehousing and transport during the night. The candidate must be able to lead and supervise the shift to achieve optimum efficiencies. The ideal candidate needs to be highly organized and communicate effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervise staff through effective planning, leading, organizing and running of the operations.
2. Ensure all system and transport procedures are adhered to and confirmed at the close of everyday.
3. Ensure schedules and deadlines are adhered to and met.
4. Assist in problem-solving.
5. Ensure accurate, efficient and effective day-to-day running of the shift.
6. Supervise the receiving and dispatching operations.
7. Daily accurate and punctual reporting on the shift operations.
8. Excellent geographical knowledge of South Africa.
9. Comply with HR policy and procedures.
10. Ensure that shift staff comply with legal requirements.
11. Handle disciplinary matters as and when required.
12. Encourage teamwork, trust, collaboration, and motivate the shift staff to achieve a level of productivity and profitability.
13. Good decision-making skills.
14. As an independent supervisor, you will be responsible for all aspects of logistics operations in your shift.
15. You must have effective oral and written communication skills at all levels.
16. Apply professional, polite communication skills.
17. Flexible working hours.
18. Give attention to detail to detect discrepancies on records and reports.
19. Be punctual, be concerned about attendance and attentiveness.
20. Meet commitments, accept accountability, stay focused under pressure and adhere to established guidelines and rules of the organization.
21. Be flexible with schedule and be able to work weekends.

Requirements:

1. Proven track record in product logistics environment.
2. Minimum of 2 - 5 years experience in supervising a team on an assembly line in a logistics environment.
3. Problem-solving compliance: Must ensure full site compliance.
4. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
5. Excellent communication skills.
6. Exceptional customer service skills.
7. Strong leadership skills.
8. Must be a team player.
9. Good organizational skills.
10. Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment.
