We’re on the lookout for a Shift Superintendent PM2 to assist in managing and optimizing the performance of all aspects of the Operating Unit. Focusing on current operations and short-term business planning, contributing to Ngodwana Mill’s profitability and growth. The Shift Superintendent will drive maximum production in both quality and quantity while minimizing costs, all while fostering a safe and progressive environment for the team.

As a Shift Superintendent PM2 you will be responsible for:

• Shift Management:
  • Ensure smooth shift handovers following best practices.
  • Participate in relevant forums and meetings (e.g., SBT, Shift Superintendent, MDT).
• Employee Development & Relations:
  • Coach and mentor team members, providing on-the-job and external training as needed.
  • Facilitate corrective action processes to maintain constructive employment relations.
• Operational Excellence:
  • Continuously update BOPs to align with LMF, CDC, and IMS requirements.
  • Plan and manage expenditures within the allocated budget while minimizing waste.
• Production Oversight:
  • Oversee production activities (shutdowns, start-ups, checks) to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure raw material supply and effective production planning.
• SHEQ Compliance:
  • Conduct plant checks to ensure compliance with SHEQ standards and investigate non-conformances.
  • Ensure adherence to lock-out procedures and manage the supply of protective clothing.

What are we looking for?

• National Diploma in Pulp and Paper or Chemical Engineering
• 8 Years of Experience in a Manufacturing or Production Environment.
