REQUIREMENTS

  • Tertiary Qualification in EHS or equivalent

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Auditing two facilities
  • EHS Surveillance Audits
  • ISO 1401/ 5401
  • IATF
  • Optional TSAIX
  • Coordinate an overall Occupational Health and Safety program for all employees
  • Conduct scheduled (routine) and unscheduled Health and Safety inspections of the company's processes and facilities
  • Identify and prioritize HSE training needs for employees and self in collaboration with Human Resources
  • Present Occupational Health and Safety training programs
  • Document control liaison for all updated and current documents for the company
  • Coordinate and participate in incident investigations
  • Risk analysis: compile risk assessments for Health and Safety, and action the additional control to reduce or illuminate the risk and hazards
  • Maintain a record system to measure accidents/ incidents and other key indicators regarding the HSE program
  • Determine training requirements and coordinate the training of employees in proper and safe work methods and procedures
  • Attend daily production meetings for reporting
  • Coordinate annual Fire Safety, evacuation, and spill drills
  • Respond to questions and resolve employee complaints and concerns regarding HSE
  • Coordinate the control of contractors on site, HSE induction training and maintain the relevant contractor documentation
  • Responsible for all things related to IODs - investigations, completing necessary documents and submitting them to the relevant institution, such as COIDA at the Department of Labour
  • Liaise with government and municipal departments as required
  • Act as the company representative for all audits by internal and external third parties which are of a SHE nature
  • Promote safety as a core organizational value
  • Plan management review meetings for SHE
  • Assist and support with any ad-hoc activities assigned by the Manager or direct superior
  • Maintain all HSE documentation, procedures, policies and work instructions to ensure that the HSE system meets the company's legislation and other requirements
