We are looking for an individual that can contribute and strengthen our Agri Team in our Health and Safety Department. The successful candidate would be required to coordinate the health and safety systems within the business unit. The candidate would have to identify hazards and assess risks to health and safety, put appropriate safety controls in place, and provide advice on accident prevention and occupational health to management and employees. The successful incumbent would be required to lead incident investigations, identify the causes and advise on improvements in safety standards that need to be made. The ideal candidate will be appointed as a SHE Officer in this supportive role.

Minimum Requirements
Health and Safety qualification (e.g. SAMTRAC).
Computer literate on MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and MS Word.
Minimum Of 3 Years Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Experience
Experience in working with: OHS Act 85 of 1993, COID Act, National Environmental Management Act
Previous experience in a poultry environment/operation will be beneficial
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the HSE functions of a Poultry Breeding Farm and a Hatchery.
Conducting Inspections (Inside and Outside)
Keeping the OHS files up to date.
Arranging all relevant legal required training.
Inspecting and reporting on IOD (reporting to relevant bodies, DOL etc.)
Communication via health and safety toolbox talks.
Overseeing and enforcing Lock Out, Confined Space and Safe Work Procedures as required on site
Managing and monitoring visitors and project contractors to ensure they are compliant
Contractor Compliance including induction, 37(2) Mandatory agreements and COID registration Control
Schedule safety meetings, training
Conduct audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Implement safety plans, policies and procedures ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Staff Medical Arrangements and Contractor Management (Annual assessments, entry and exit medicals, incapacity, etc)
Compiling weekly and monthly reports for Management
