Senior Sales Executive / Business Development Manager (Kempton Park)
Important: To travel quarterly up into Africa, fluent in Portuguese and/or French!

Qualification

  1. Matric
  2. Tertiary degree (Sales and Marketing / Exports / Related)

Requirements

  1. Sales experience - 4 - 8 years
  2. Meeting targets (Industrial / Mining / Exports / storage facilities / rentals)
  3. Experience with traveling in Africa (Valid Passport)
  4. Experience with exports
  5. French / Portuguese
  6. Staff leadership / training / mentoring skills
  7. Act as 2IC / responsible and loyal
  8. Go-getter personality
  9. Driven and self-motivated
  10. Calculations / numeracy skills

Duties

  1. Promotion of sales, conversions, and rentals of our products, so as to meet budget expectations.
  2. Preparation and submission of quotations to existing and prospective clients.
  3. General market development, identifying potential new clients and making efforts to secure their business.
  4. Manage existing clients, identify new clients in Africa and make every effort to secure their business.
  5. Perform administrative functions to complete the sales cycle (forecasting, reporting, customer database maintenance and data entry, correspondence).
  6. Proactively call on accounts on targeted lists through utilization of the customer database.
  7. Build on the customer database within targeted market segments via prospecting, networking, email/e-marketing, or utilizing Internet information sources.
  8. Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities for current and future clients.
  9. Staying abreast of developments within the industry and keeping current with new technologies, competitors, complementary products, and potential clients within the industry.
  10. Keeping the Manager of your Sales Division updated with developments in both the industry and the division in the form of reports compiled on at least a monthly basis, after every marketing trip and prior to management and board meetings.
  11. Ensure KPIs are achieved as per the position's KPI Schedule.
  12. Retention and Engagement with Existing Clientele: At least once a month, calling upon existing clients (via telephone, email, physical interaction, etc.).
  13. Promoting current product offerings through various channels.
  14. Targets to be set and agreed upon by Manager.
  15. Written reports to be provided to Manager.
  16. Consistent Sales and Rental figures posted.
  17. Ensuring sufficient margins are achieved.
  18. New Business Development: Sourcing of new business and leads.
  19. Cold-calling and visiting new business leads.
  20. Targets to be set and agreed upon by Manager.
  21. Written reports to be provided to Manager.
  22. Identifying areas of our current business where we lack and developing a plan to address these.
  23. Plans would need to be presented to your superior, and then, subject to approval, you will be required to follow through appropriately.
  24. Promotion of Self-Storage facilities (where applicable).
  25. Management Training: On-the-job training as promoted by the Manager – example would be to act as 2IC in Manager's absence, and taking junior staff and/or projects under your wing.
  26. Formal training through Educational Institutions.
  27. Expected to have complete familiarity with existing Container World IT systems and methodology (Including CRM).
  28. Marketing / Advertising: Assist in the compiling of advertising material and targeting of products to be promoted in their region.
