About the job Senior Project Manager (Microsoft Dynamics)
Key purpose:
Responsible for managing the day-to-day running and delivery of projects and by consistently applying project management knowledge, skills and personal characteristics to deliver projects that meet stakeholder/client requirements.
Duties and responsibilities:
Managing and monitoring the usage on hours for the AMS agreements with clients
Understand agreement models and SLAs per client and ensure no breaches on calls which are within the teams control
Monitoring calls logged on ITSM for the various clients and ensuring that the P1s are picked up immediately or within SLA
Monthly review sessions with AMS clients covering;
Finances
Ensuring that the quarterly reconciliations are done and alert the client beforehand should they under or over utilize their buckets.
Where necessary recommending top ups
Always ensuring that calls are logged in ITSM for managed services clients, either internal by the team or by the client, where they have a profile in ITSM
Monitoring ITSM and ensuring calls are closed when resolved and statuss updated by the team timeously.
Drawing reports from ITSM for billing purposes
Understanding the billing process for each client, project, and AMS
Know when the billing cut of periods are for each cycle
Ensuring the scrum teams timesheets are logged timeously to ensure accurate billing
Ensuring that project governances are followed:
Internal testing must be done on any new development
Scheduling and plannig client UAT sessions
Ensuring that UAT sessions are properly signed off with an extract of the requirements from DevOps attached and a bug report if anything was logged.
Understanding the CAB requirements for each client and always ensuring that client CAB sessions are attended even if you have no changes logged for approval.
Ensuring that you monitor scope on projects and raise change requests where necessary.
Timeous responses to client/s emails within the same day of receiving a query.
Ensuring responses to clients are populated with sufficient details or information to answer queries and questions.
Day to day management of the scrum team activities
Directing the teams work
Ensuring regular grooming sessions with the scrum team
Ensuring stories are populated (by the team) with descriptions and acceptance criterias
Size the stories with the team
Ensuring that all the work is added to the backlog
It is Project Managers responsibility to ensure the backlog is always up to date and cleaned up after every sprint.
Sprint Planning
Sprint planning sessions with the team
Pulling in the stories from the backlog that is required for delivery in the next iteration, prioritized as per client expectations
Allowing the team to populate their tasks and hours and ensuring it does not exceed allocated capacity
Confirming stories with the team and commiting these to the sprint.
Ensuring the stories and tasks pulled into the sprint does not exceed the team capacity for the sprint.
Daily Stand up
Run the dailystand up
Ensuring that capacity is managed daily by making sure the team does not go into the red.
Replannig as and when needed
Sprint Review
Facilitate review sessions at the end of each sprint
During the review, assess what was completed and what was not completed, to be played back at Art Demo in the presentation deck
Sprint Retrospective
Must be done on DevOps
Giving the team an opportunity to inspect the sprint and add contributions on DevOps retro board
Evaluating feedback and assess what improvements/ experiments to bring into the team
Qualifications and experience:
Advanced Project Management qualification with extensive related experience
Agile Certifications
Prince 2 Certification
Extensive project or programme management experience preferably in a multi-national Professional Services environment
Excellent understanding of the project or programme life cycle
Excellent competency in project or programme change management
Proven experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints
