Job description

Briefly describe key responsibilities/main job outputs:

  • Project/Programme Management in an Engineering discipline inline with PMBOK Ver 7 principles to provide Client Management and operational support.
  • Identify and analyse client needs and contribute to the preparation of the proposal documents, which clearly defines project objectives, the associated scope and the deliverables.
  • Apply sound commercial principles to the preparation of proposals and related budgets in line with RHDHV’s commercial strategy.
  • Comply with internal approval and authorization requirements, internal submission for approval of promotional projects to the risk board.
  • Identify and analyse required resource planning, risks and costs which will result in the project meeting or exceeding the needs and expectations of the client and other external stakeholders, and the best achievable profit to RHDHV.
  • Preparation of detailed design reports, concept design and proposal preparation.
  • Leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams on complex projects ensuring tasks are distributed to team members and ensuring quality of deliverables by applying Information management principles.
  • Using company standard collaboration and coordination tools in line with our Digital Ways of Working.
  • Proactively liaising with project manager and client's representative managing expectations and communicating alternatives, deviations and issues encountered during design.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians on engineering design and software usage.
  • Employer’s Agent/Employer’s Agent Representative duties as required from time to time.

Minimum required qualification:

  • B.Eng/B.Sc. Civil Engineering with 15+ years in the relevant field.
  • Professional registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng) and or SACPMCP / PMP Essential.
  • M.Sc – Would be advantageous.
  • Digital way of working training and competencies.

Minimum experience, knowledge & skills:

  • Computational design thinking.
  • Ability to work with and apply a wide variety of codes and standards and compile and review project specifications.
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams on water projects and briefing team members on scope of work and overseeing coordination of design using ISO19650 standards.
  • BIM implementation – Creating/using BEPs, MIDP and TIDPs with applying CDE principles.
  • Experience in the following software and applications.
  • Competence in data analytics and using PowerBI or similar packages is advantageous.
  • Scripting, workflow automation and programming is advantageous.
