  • You will manage design and wider consultant teams in a collaborative manner to ensure effective completion of responsibilities.
  • You will lead and manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practices, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub.

You'll need to have:

  • Right to work: Be a South African citizen or possess a valid and legal permit to work. You will be located in Cape Town or surrounds.
  • A tertiary qualification in a related field such as project management, construction management, or a similar discipline is essential. This could include degrees like B. Tech in Quantity Surveying or a National Diploma in Building.
  • Professionally registered with the South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as a Professional Construction Project Manager (Pr.CPM). Additionally, registration with the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP) or Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is also beneficial.
  • Substantial previous work experience in project management, particularly in the built environment, is crucial.
  • Candidates should have a proven track record of managing projects with significant construction value.
  • Experience in high-end residential, mixed-use, hotels and leisure projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency in project information management software and tools such as Aconex, Procore, ACC, BIM360 and Smartsheet will be highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with contracts like JBCC, NEC, and FIDIC is also important.

You'll also have:

  • Substantial experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the high-end residential and hospitality sectors.
  • Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
