Job description

Fund accounting function producing fund annual financial statements, regulatory reporting, bank and asset reconciliations as well as trustee reporting for Pension Funds.

Responsibilities:

  1. Produce quality financial statements prior to the commencement of an audit.
  2. Ensure that all financial statements are released to clients within 4 months or per SLA and signed for submission to the FSCA within 6 months after year end.
  3. Completion of asset and liability matching queries and advise on any differences as well as provide guidance for resolution.
  4. Resolving all queries from the FSCA within the required 30 days from receipt.
  5. Compile SARB reports for all funds for review within 45 days of the quarter end for submission to the Reserve Bank.
  6. Management of bank account balances.
  7. Processing all investment and disinvestment instructions timeously.
  8. Ensure all necessary system requirements are completed within SLA.
  9. Bank reconciliations are completed monthly by the 10th of the following month.
  10. Compile monthly trustee cashflows and management accounts.
  11. Ensure all fees, expenses and premiums are paid monthly and timeously.
  12. Adherence to policies and procedures to avoid any potential PI claims.
  13. Ensure that all statutory requirements are complied with to avoid penalties and interest.
  14. Manage the audit process to avoid cost overruns.
  15. Asset alignments to be completed for all instructions.
  16. Prepare fund budgets, variance reports and expense forecasts.
  17. Prepare reserve account analysis and action any resulting movements.
  18. Compile the Regulation 28 reporting and submit to the FSCA.
  19. Manage and resolve a range of client queries by interacting with insurance providers on behalf of clients.
  20. Regular and reliable follow up of all queries that are addressed to client executive or require client executive intervention.
  21. Ensure timeous response to emails or if need be escalate to the administration team.
  22. Ensure resolution of all problematic client queries.

Additional Requirements:

In accordance with National Credit Act (NCA) candidates applying for this role will require a credit record check.

Experience:

4-5 years Employee Benefits within a Financial Institution.

Qualifications and Experience:

Business Degree and RE 5 qualifications.
