We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our aparthotel properties in Cape Town. WHAT YOU'LL DO

Inventory Management & Systems

  • Develop and implement robust inventory management systems for all properties, including tracking consumables, amenities, and equipment.
  • Oversee the rollout and implementation of new property management systems and technologies, ensuring smooth integration and user training.
  • Champion the adoption of new technologies to improve inventory control, streamline operations, and enhance guest experiences (e.g., smart home technology, automated inventory tracking).
  • Analyse inventory data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes.

Property Management & Maintenance

  • Supervise and guide Property Managers in guest service, staff management, financial performance, and property upkeep.
  • Leverage existing relationships with trusted maintenance companies and third-party vendors to ensure efficient property maintenance.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to assess operational effectiveness, identify maintenance needs, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and reactive repair strategies.

Guest Experience

  • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Monitor guest feedback channels (e.g., online reviews, and surveys) and implement improvements based on feedback.
  • Foster a culture of exceptional customer service among all staff members.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and develop a team of Property Managers, Maintenance Supervisors, and Housekeeping Supervisors.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Motivate your team to achieve operational goals while exceeding guest expectations.

Financial Management

  • Monitor and control operational expenses, including maintenance costs, energy consumption, staff costs, and inventory costs.
  • Prepare and analyse budgets and financial reports for each property.
  • Identify cost-saving measures while maintaining high-quality service standards.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We’re searching for someone who’s proactive, results-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years experience in hospitality operations or facilities management (preferably within aparthotels or hotels).
  • Proven experience managing multiple properties and teams effectively.
  • Expertise in inventory management systems implementation within a hospitality setting.
  • Strong vendor management skills with established relationships with maintenance companies and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to prepare budgets and analyse financial data for decision-making.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams towards success.
  • Organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
