The Senior Network Engineer plays a critical role in designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, reliable, and scalable network solutions for clients. Operating within a fast-paced Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, the Senior Network Engineer is also a key escalation point for resolving complex network issues and mentoring junior engineers
Key Responsibilities
Network Design and Implementation
Architect and deploy network solutions, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
Implement robust security protocols to protect client environments against emerging threats.
Troubleshooting
Serve as an escalation point for high-priority network incidents and outages.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to ensure network reliability.
Provide remote and onsite support for critical network issues.
Monitoring and Optimization
Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks.
Optimize network performance by analysing traffic patterns and implementing best practices.
Ensure compliance with SLAs through efficient incident management and reporting.
Client Engagement
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering guidance on network improvements and best practices.
Participate in client meetings to discuss project goals, progress, and technical recommendations.
Provide clear and professional communication to stakeholders during incidents and projects.
Mentorship and Team Development
Mentor junior network engineers, fostering growth and development within the team.
Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions on new technologies and methodologies.
