Senior Manager - Civil Generators Security. Technology Information

Strategic Input

1. Provide input into the Technology Operations department.
2. Develop the operational plan for the implementation, maintenance, and operations of all civil, generators, and security components for sites and self-build transmission.
3. Ensure to be kept abreast of best practices for civil, generator, and security implementations on active and passive components.
4. Drive the implementation of best practices to ensure the network is performing optimally.

Solutions Delivery

1. Drive the implementation, maintenance, and operation of civil, generators, and security into the network within the appropriate timeframe meeting business requirements, through the MNS/Tower vendors.
2. Oversee the management of all changes, upgrades, and commissioning projects.
3. Facilitate tender procedures and negotiate contracts at a high level.
4. Lead the resources responsible for the implementation and maintenance operations of the civil, generators, and security aspects of the network.
5. Drive compliance with regulatory requirements along with relevant environmental standards.
6. Manage main suppliers and contractors to ensure quality standards are achieved to meet project and ongoing business requirements.
7. Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and practices.
8. Ensure suitable risk management practices are in place.

Operational Delivery

1. Ensure appropriate resources and processes are in place to manage the operational requirements for generators – fuelling, repairs, services, etc.
2. Identify new opportunities for operational efficiency and eliminate processes or activities that are not adding value.
3. Ensure civil, generators, and security services capacity is available to meet planned growth requirements (in conjunction with Access & Core Implementation).
4. Ensure appropriate resources are in place to oversee the planning, design, implementation, management, maintenance, and support.
5. Ensure security of sites is maintained, improved, and upgraded.

Governance and Control

1. Strictly follow and ensure team and vendor compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
2. Ensure effective SLA strategies are in place to support the business and vendor compliance.
3. Implement proper controls and processes to minimize revenue leakage.
4. Ensure proper project controls are in place to manage financial and operational risks across the business.
5. Appropriate implementation of DoA.
6. Ensure the governance and fulfillment of managed service deliverables across South Africa by all vendors on a national level.

Communication and Coordination

1. Resolve roadblocks as necessary for effective and timely implementation, maintenance, and operations of security and generators.
2. Summarize and report on progress and issues relating to implementation, maintenance, and operations of civil, generators, and security.
3. Maintain good relationships with the vendors and third-party contractors.
4. Interface with all relevant MTN regions to address civil, generators, and security issues whenever necessary.
5. Keep abreast of national regulations and influence new provincial policies and procedures in the best interest of MTN.
6. Monitor the national database for abnormal trends and take corrective action.
7. Control good working relations with all contractors and other departments.
8. Ensure that all targets and deadlines set are met through daily communication with Regional Heads and Vendors.
9. Ensure all requests for quotes and works authorizations are raised with the contractors.

Financial Management

1. Forecast, plan, develop, and review transport network operations budgets in line with MTN SA financial requirements.
2. Ensure transport network operations budgets are optimized.
3. Manage transport network operations expenditure in line with agreed budgets.
4. Identify and eliminate non-contributory expenditure.
5. Manage budgeting and preparation of tenders.

People Leadership and Organizational Capability Building

1. Lead, develop, and coach the Managed Network Services Operations team.
2. Act as an ambassador and role model for the Technology team by living the brand values and vital behaviors.
