An Senior Living Facility is seeking an experienced and compassionate General Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure the highest standards of care for elderly residents. This respected facility fosters a warm, family-like atmosphere while promoting a culture of empathy, professionalism, and inclusivity. The General Manager will lead various departments, manage a staff of around 55, and maintain close communication with the board of volunteers. With a focus on both operational excellence and resident care, the successful candidate will embrace the facility’s cultural heritage and work to maintain strong relationships within the community. Additionally, they will actively engage in attracting new residents to ensure the continued vitality of the home.
Minimum Requirements:
Management Degree
Medical Qualification (Highly Beneficial)
Speak Italian / Or willingness to learn the Italian language within a year
Proven leadership experience in healthcare, residential care, or hospitality sectors
Knowledge of geriatric care and healthcare regulations
Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and fundraising
Experience in marketing and promoting services
Ability to handle union-related matters
Compassionate and empathetic approach to resident care
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the operational management of the facility, including the medical department, catering, housekeeping, and administration
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain high standards of care for residents
Manage a team of 55 staff members, providing leadership, training, and support
Develop and implement strategies to attract new residents and maintain the pipeline of potential residents
Oversee the financial health of the facility, including budgeting and fundraising efforts
Build and maintain relationships with the Italian community and external partners
Address union-related issues in collaboration with HR consultants
Foster a culture of transparency, inclusivity, and continuous improvement within the home
