Our client, a prominent real estate investment company, is currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join their esteemed legal team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned legal professional to provide expert legal counsel and support to all areas of the business while minimizing risks and enhancing operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drafting and reviewing legal documents.
2. Managing a team of legal professionals.
3. Staying abreast of legal developments.
4. Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
5. Managing and assisting in the property acquisitions and disposals process.
6. Overseeing litigious matters and managing external legal counsel.
7. Preparing the legal department's annual budget.
8. Conducting legal and factual research.

Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in a senior advisory role within the corporate or commercial sector, or as a senior associate or director in a conveyancing or corporate/commercial department of a law firm.

Education:

A BA LLB (or equivalent) degree, completion of articles, and admission as an attorney are essential qualifications for this role.

Legal Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of litigation (including dispute resolution), commercial drafting, property transfers, relevant legislation (including industry-specific regulations), and the Companies Act is necessary.

Skills:

The Senior Legal Advisor must possess strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills. Effective decision-making, negotiation, and MS Office proficiency are vital. Familiarity with MDA software is desirable.

Leadership Abilities:

Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and guide a team, delegate tasks effectively, and mentor junior members are crucial for success in this role.

Attention to Detail:

Meticulousness and a focus on accuracy when reviewing legal documents and ensuring compliance with legal principles are essential qualities.

Team Leadership and Supervision:

As a senior member of the legal team, the Senior Legal Advisor will manage and supervise a team consisting of legal advisors, junior legal advisors, legal assistants, and legal learners.
