Senior Hse Officer

Hire Resolve, a leading recruitment agency, is seeking a Senior HSE Officer to join a prominent construction company based in Centurion. In this pivotal role, the Senior HSE Officer will oversee the health, safety, and environmental practices within the organization, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and fostering a culture of safety.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and ensure effective hazard control measures are in place.
• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Lead safety audits and inspections, providing guidance and actionable feedback to site management.
• Provide training and support to employees on HSE best practices and regulations.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing detailed reports to facilitate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance safety protocols and practices across all projects.
• Prepare and present HSE performance reports to management and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest HSE legislation, technology, and trends relevant to the construction industry.

Requirements

• Relevant degree or qualification in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar HSE role, preferably in the construction sector.
• In-depth knowledge of local and international health and safety regulations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems.
• Ability to develop training materials and conduct training sessions.
• Excellent organizational skills with a focus on detail and compliance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
