As a Financial Analyst, you will be part of the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function at Motive. The FP&A team is responsible for the financial operations of the 5 Lines of Business (LOB), including planning, analysis, risk management and control, process optimisation, and business performance enhancement. You will be a key member of the leadership team for an LOB, fulfilling the role of Finance Business Partner. The FP&A team supports the Accounting, Control and Governance team to ensure Motive's financial reporting is accurate, timely, and complies with Lumine best practices and corporate policies.
You will play a critical role in creating and delivering the changes Motive requires to establish and strengthen the business. Main Responsibility Areas:
- Lead as a Business partner, driving performance through KPIs, challenging the Business to exceed goals.
- Ensure financial integrity, accuracy, and policy compliance.
- Implement change to improve efficiency, effectiveness, profitability, and cash flow.
- Lead and support others to engage through belief in the strength of the business and their part in it.
- Support the creation of a respected and high-performing Finance function.
Strategy:
- Support the LOB Leader and functional managers to develop clear business plans, priorities, and forecasts in line with corporate targets and best practices.
- Evolve financial processes, systems, and policies to ensure scalability, the availability of accurate and timely data to make the best business decisions, and to comply with regulations and corporate governance requirements.
Operations:
- Responsibility for the LoB's monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
- Ensure reported Revenue, Deferred Revenue, and WIP for the LOB is fully supported and auditable against IFRS15 principles at a per project level.
- Manage Sales Commissions accounting and payments for the LOB.
- Ownership of the Planning and Forecasting cycle including 'Quarterly Strategic Review' (QSR) forecasting process, and 'Quarterly Business Review' (QBR) review process.
- Monitoring and reporting the health of Bookings, Backlog, and Book-to-Bill.
- Financial leadership and application of best practices to processes, people, and systems to affect revenue, profitability, forecasting, and cash-flow; improving operating efficiency and performance.
- Recommend and lead efforts to improve business performance as reflected by operating ratios and working capital.
- Responsible for the accuracy of the LOB's Net Revenue (revenue recognition and cost of sales completeness), applying IFRS and Company policies.
- Engage in regular professional services project reviews, ensuring risks are identified and percentage of completion revenue recognized in compliance with company best practice.
- Responsibility for Risk Management process review, policy standardization, and process improvements.
- Oversight and improvement of effective financial processes and systems with the LOB.
- Provide Finance input to legal for vendor and customer contracts.
- Work closely with all functional leads to ensure projects bids and contract terms, financial and otherwise, adhere to corporate parameters.
- Participate in or lead Finance department projects to implement new systems and process improvements.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Holds an Accounting Qualification (CPA or similar).
- Demonstrates strength in the application of current technical accounting knowledge.
- Understanding of project accounting and software accounting concepts.
- Ability to perform analysis on data, deliver insightful observations, and valuable recommendations.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Experience of multiple entities/countries/currencies within a Group organization.
- Understanding of project accounting and software accounting concepts.
- Strong on use of accounting/ERP software, comfortable with Microsoft Office tools.
