The Opportunity
The role of Senior Financial Analyst is based in Roodepoort within the Established Pharmaceutical Division. Abbott focuses on providing high-quality branded generic medicines across various therapeutic areas, including gastroenterology, women’s health, cardiometabolic, pain management, and respiratory.
What you will do:
Planning and Forecasting
Assist with the LBE/Plan process by collating all guidelines from area and division.
Coordinate the information collection process from various departments.
Maintain the calendarized P&L, performance, and exchange variance model per country.
Maintain the departmental and promotional expense planning models per country.
Maintain the standard cost calculation model and relevant analysis of duty, freight, and clearance costs.
Electronic upload of the LBE/Plan information.
Assist in planning and forecasting.
Prepare monthly closing reports.
Support margin improvement initiatives.
Prepare and report capital expenditure budgets.
Coordinate with commercial teams for analytics support.
Maintain expense tracking and ensure compliance.
Review cost center transactions.
Coordinate with finance and commercial functions for accruals and provisions.
Ensure compliance with financial policies.
Lead budgeting, planning, analysis, and reporting for the Africa Region.
Supervise financial close processes.
Meet financial reporting requirements.
Ensure audit readiness.
Participate in strategic business deals and alliances.
Manage P&L and balance sheet transactions.
Conduct regular balance sheet reviews.
Set and follow up on credit terms and relationships with distributors.
Business Partnering
Prepare detailed expense variance analysis reports for EPD cost center owners.
Actively partner with cost center owners to monitor expenses and formulate action plans to ensure adherence to plan and LBE targets.
Support the business with ad-hoc analysis as required.
General
Assist with internal and external audit queries.
Perform ad-hoc analyses and reports as required by the business.
Qualifications
Required: Completed BCom Accounting degree with 5+ years of Senior Financial Analyst experience.
Candidate who is a registered CA or Eligible to register as a CA is essential.
CIMA is advantageous and may be considered.
Preferred: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, leadership abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to influence and motivate others.
Experience
At least 3-5 years within an FP&A role is essential.
Completed articles (preferred).
Familiarity with IFRS to ensure proper recording of transactions.
Costing experience.
FMCG, Multi-national and multi-market experience beneficial.
