Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Project Planner to join our team for a 12-month project at Richards Bay. The Project Planner will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring the project progresses on time and within scope.
The ideal candidate will have experience in project planning, scheduling, and working with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates based in Richards Bay or the surrounding areas are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
Collaborate with project managers and teams to ensure accurate and realistic project timelines and milestones.
Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or delays, providing recommendations for mitigation.
Prepare and update reports on project status, milestones, and critical paths for stakeholders.
Ensure that all tasks and activities are planned and completed according to project scope, timeline, and resources.
Coordinate with various teams to ensure proper resource allocation and utilization.
Conduct regular project reviews and provide updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
Identify and resolve any scheduling conflicts or resource constraints.
Assist in the development of project budgets and resource plans, tracking expenditures and resource usage.
Ensure that the project schedule aligns with quality and safety standards.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Project Planner or in a similar role, preferably in large-scale construction, industrial, or engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of project scheduling, planning, and project management principles.
Experience with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address scheduling conflicts and delays.
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Candidates based in Richards Bay or the surrounding areas are highly preferred.
Education & Experience:
Matric / Grade 12 (essential).
Relevant qualification in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field (Degree or Diploma) is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in project planning or scheduling, preferably in the industrial or construction sectors.
Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Prince2) is a plus.
