My client who is a leading manufacturing company in Cape Town is urgently looking for a dynamic Accountant (CA) to join their team.

Responsibilities:

1. Preparing the month-end accounts up to Management Accounts
2. Investigating unexpected variances in the profit & loss account
3. Overall reconciliation of the accounts to ensure that all costs and revenues have been accounted for
4. Preparing & reviewing monthly reconciliations and balance sheet accounts
5. Managing relevant areas of the annual budget and wider participation in the general process
6. Preparation of lead schedules at financial year end and responsibility for relevant areas of the annual audit
7. Maintaining effective financial controls and reporting structures
8. Contribution to the daily functioning of the finance team and its performance
9. Assisting the Senior Financial Accountant and the Financial Executive with ad hoc assignments

Minimum Requirements:

1. CA (SA) or equivalent
2. Have recently (in last six months) completed articles
3. SAP experience or knowledge would be advantageous
4. Confident and independent person who is a fast learner
5. Being a team player
6. Ability to use own initiative and work with minimum supervision
7. Able to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines
8. A strong entrepreneurial ability
