Senior Financial Accountant

Planet Fitness is looking for a Senior Accountant who will play a critical role in the financial operations of the company.

This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, managing accounting processes, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
3. Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
4. Conduct financial analysis and report variances.
5. Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
6. Coordinate and manage external audits.
7. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
8. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
9. Provide technical support and advice on accounting issues.
10. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
11. Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
12. Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process.
13. Provide input into the department's goal-setting process.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
3. Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
5. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
