Essentials:

• Tertiary qualification in Electronics/Engineering/Technically related. Min of 2-3 years experience as a service engineer with Laboratory instrumentation (PCR thermocyclers, Sequencing/NGS preferred). SA citizen, valid passport, drivers license & own transport essential.

Location: Randburg, Johannesburg, SA

Salary: Negotiable on experience

DETAILS:
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Service Technician/Service Engineer to join a Laboratory Instrumentation distribution company in their technical services department. The position will involve travel to see customers and to perform instrument calibration, service, repair, maintenance, validations and installations as needed onsite at the clients premises. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the administration supporting their physical/technical work including, but not limited to, processing quotes, compiling reports, quality compliance and customer liaison. The right person for the job will be self-driven, willing to work overtime, and must be willing to travel through SA and into Africa when required.

Requirements:

• Tertiary Qualification (Diploma (ND), Degree (BTech)) in Electronics/Engineering
• 2-3 years experience in Instrument service, repair + maintenance (Chemistry, Life Science, Medical Diagnostic, Biotechnology related laboratory instruments)
• Previous experience with PCR thermocyclers, Sequencing/NGS HIGHLY advantageous
• Outstanding aptitude & experience with electronic instrument servicing and training
• High level of Customer Service skill
• Excellent verbal communication skills in English
• High level computer literacy
• Valid drivers license, own transport & valid passport
