Senior Engineer - Mechanical

Our client is a leading South African-based resources group with a strong focus on coal and renewable energy.

They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer - Mechanical with drawing design experience to provide expert technical support across various engineering disciplines within our client's projects. This role is crucial for contributing effectively to the development and growth of our business operations.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide expert technical support across all project phases.
2. Contribute to the successful delivery of projects from design through to installation and commissioning.
3. Conduct maintenance, hazard identification, and risk assessment activities.
4. Oversee procurement processes and ensure quality standards are met.
5. Manage project engineering, design, erection, and installation.
6. Lead contract and project management activities in heavy industry settings.

Key Criteria:

1. BEng Mechanical Engineering (Essential / Minimum)
2. Drawings Design Experience (Essential / Minimum)
3. Management Development Programme (Recommended / Desirable)
4. Government Certificate of Competence: Engineering (Recommended / Desirable)
5. 6-8 years of relevant experience in:
1. Maintenance
2. Hazard identification and risk assessment
3. Procurement
4. Project engineering and design
5. Erection and installation
6. Contract and project management in heavy industry
