Sovereign is a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets and has operations in five provinces. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and skilled candidates for this position within the Commercial Division, based at Kariega. The successful applicant will report directly to the Head of Finance – Production. The Senior Divisional Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the division’s financial activities and ensuring management is held accountable for results. The job holder must have a tertiary qualification (BCom Honours or equivalent), 5-8 years’ experience with a minimum of 4 years as financial manager and be highly computer literate. CA (SA) qualification will be an added advantage. This position carries the TASK grade of T15.

Responsibilities

1. Implement solid financial controls within the division.
2. Ensure accurate production stock controls are maintained, verification systems in place and reported on.
3. Control product costings, approval, and reporting processes.
4. Ensure proper accounting around the yield.
5. Manage inventory within the agreed values by procurement division.
6. Ensure that strong controls and processes are applied over tender & supplier evaluation.
7. Submit weekly forecast and compile monthly management accounts and reports highlighting deviations to management.
8. Prepare and review annual budgetary process.
9. Ensure that there are no significant control weaknesses in the divisions with respect to the balance sheet and management accounts.
