Senior Data Scientist – Hybrid – SSSDSH

Main job function

To use business data, visualisation and statistical methods to conduct analysis and provide insight and foresight into business performance; suggest analytical approaches and methodologies of improving operational performance; research, design and implement state of the art machine learning solutions to enhance the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

1. Support relevant business stakeholders through the application of advanced analytics, statistical modelling and machine learning
2. Statistical and machine learning model maintenance and enhancement
3. Promote the adoption of advanced data science and analytics across the organisation
4. Support and leverage data management
5. Mentor, develop and advise Data Scientists

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

1. Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, data science or related quantitative field

DESIRED EDUCATION

1. PhD in mathematics, statistics, data science or related quantitative field

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

1. 6-8 years’ relevant working experience in data science building and implementing predictive models

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

1. Experience in the healthcare industry

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

1. Data science, mathematics, statistics, curiosity and creative problem solving
2. Derive value from analytical output by explaining insights in layman’s terms
3. Advanced analytics and understanding of machine learning algorithms e.g. Neural networks, boosting methods, clustering and random forest models
4. Abreast with the latest developments in AI/ML, Data & Digital innovation and the resulting implications for the organization and healthcare industry
5. Programming skills in scripting languages such as SAS, R, Python and SQL
6. Proficient in Data Storytelling (analysing, explaining findings, and articulating business implications)
7. Presentation skills (Tableau, SAS Visual Analytics, Power BI) to audiences from all levels of the company
8. Subject Matter Expertise on all aspects of AI and ML. Can identify appropriate techniques/solutions for business & data problems
9. Proficient in prescribed company scripting languages, and can teach, review and optimize code written in these languages
10. Knowledge of the Healthcare industry and related trends
11. Critical and analytical thinking skills and inquisitiveness to discover patterns with data
12. Managing data-driven projects that drive business value
13. Exceptionally good computer skills and all-around technologically adept
14. Knowledge and ability to build and deploy machine learning solutions using open-source and cloud technologies
15. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
