Role Function

The Senior SAP Data Archiving Consultant is responsible for implementing data volume management methods and executing end-to-end data archiving solutions within the SAP environment. The Senior Consultant will perform complex tasks under the guidance of a Lead Consultant or project manager and contribute to the successful completion of archiving projects through technical archiving expertise.

Responsibilities

• Executes archiving project implementations, starting from Archiving Assessment and Archiving Technical data, through to non-dependent and dependent Functional data archiving.
• Assists in the development and implementation of the project plan for a project. This includes providing input into drafting of the project plan (scope, deliverables, timelines, and resources), identifying team members, and preparing and assisting in the preparation of individual work plans.
• Oversees Archiving project stages and all project activities leading to the implementation of the archiving requirements.
• Support the Lead Archiving consultant(s) in the technical preparation of archiving assessment, business workshops, compiling Blueprints, archiving execution in a QA/TEST system and Test Scenarios.
• Communicate technical archiving concepts or processes to clients, document configurations and processes, and lead meetings/working sessions/workshops with clients.
• Assist with problem-solving issues with data archiving and accessing archive data.
• Create Work Packages for Archiving Project (Objects/Sequencing/Data and Retention ranges)
• Implement an end-to-end Data archiving project for technical and functional transactions.

General

• Reports to the Lead Data Consultant: Archiving.
• Hybrid working arrangement.
• Travel will be required.
• This role will be required to work after hours and on weekends.

Required skills and experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or experience in these fields which created a basic framework of the field. Relevant certifications in SAP (advantageous).
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in SAP data archiving projects or a related role with minimum of 5 successful end-to-end Data Archiving projects.
• Technical Skills and Experience: Extensive experience in SAP Data Archiving across multiple SAP systems, including conducting archiving assessments, sequencing archive objects, confirming interdependencies, executing implementations, and performing technical ADK configurations.
• Strong understanding of cross-functional data archive objects.
• Good Cross-functional / integration knowledge and understanding of business processes in SAP.
• Good understanding of the SAP modules and how they fit together.
• Good understanding of Standard SAP Archiving solution including OpenText, SAP Content Server and other 3rd party vendors.
• Strong understanding of implementing and testing Business Add-ins for standard archiving objects by incorporating additional archive prerequisites.
• Good experience in preparing and executing the archiving test scripts and compiling blueprints with comprehensive knowledge of archive-enabled transactions, reports and Archive info structures.
• Strong knowledge of SAP data archiving concepts, tools, and techniques.
• Proficiency in SAP ArchiveLink and related SAP modules.
• Familiarity with SAP database volume management and providing recommendations.
• Strong experience in ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for implemented data archiving strategies in SAP systems.
• Strong Knowledge of ASAP methodology.
• Understanding the legal requirements for data and document archiving.
• Experience with 3rd party Archiving solutions e.g. PBS, NLS, and OpenText products (advantageous).
• Design and implementation of SAP Information Lifecycle Management (SAP ILM), Data Volume Management, and experience with DART (advantageous).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to thoroughly and accurately manage and process information, ensuring that all aspects of a task or project are completed with precision.
• Meticulous approach to work when reviewing and managing data, project documentation, and archiving procedures to prevent errors and ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.
• Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Show initiative by taking proactive action, anticipating needs, and assuming responsibility without waiting for instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
