Senior Data Analyst New

Location : Johannesburg / Cape Town (preferred) or Remote (SA Based)

Our customers range from clinic managers to nurses and doctors who use our product, to the heart of why we exist, the patient. As a Senior Data Analyst in our Analytics team, you will work to find opportunities for the business to improve using data.

You will collect and manipulate data to present to various stakeholders to inform of discovered insights. You will also be responsible for producing various critical reports on an ongoing basis.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

1. Create dashboards and reports. You will elicit requirements from stakeholders to craft useful and accurate reports and dashboards.
2. Continuously identify opportunities and use your programming skills to automate processes, manage data and improve reporting.
3. Identify data to source. You will work with various data owners to understand, model and map their data to match the target structure.
4. Producing operational insights. You will use your statistics skills to identify trends, describe data and produce insights impacting various aspects of the business. You will communicate these in a professional, actionable and relatable manner.

WHO YOU ARE

Knowledge and experience

1. Strong experience in the following: SQL, R, Python (Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib).
2. At least 3 years of experience as a data analyst.
3. Experience building and maintaining business intelligence tools.
4. Excellent understanding of databases, data structures and concepts.
5. Experience using platforms like DBT, AWS, Snowflake and Azure.
6. Strong statistical skills.
7. Understanding of version control tools like Git and Github.
8. You have worked and understand agile software development methodologies.
9. Experience in data pipeline development and maintenance, database and architecture designing, development and maintenance is an advantage.
10. Knowledge and interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning and predictive modelling is an advantage.

Education

1. Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related fields.
2. A post-grad degree will be an advantage.
3. Certifications in cloud computing.
4. Short courses to keep up to speed with modern development practices.
