Reporting into HR Executive: A&D (with a dotted line to Senior Manager: Business Analytics), the Senior Data Analyst will utilise their analytical, statistical and programming skills to mine, generate, analyse, interpret, and visualise large data sets and deliver on data-driven projects.
The Senior Data Analyst will support stakeholder decision-making with data insights, predictive modelling and transforming data into readable, goal-oriented reports that drive innovation and growth while maintaining the organisation’s BI solutions.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- An appropriate bachelor's degree in (BSc, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or any other relevant field).
- SQL and Power BI certifications are advantageous.
Experience:
- 3-5 years in Data Analyst role especially in the insurance industry.
- 3-5 years of experience extracting and aggregating data from large relational databases, data mining and predictive modelling.
- 3–5 years of experience developing data visualization solutions to support users understanding of results.
- 3-5 years of proven experience as a Data Analyst in the Insurance industry.
- Advanced skills in SQL.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex findings clearly and understandably.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate analyses.
- Proven experience in Power BI and reporting tools.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the data model operations.
- Data modelling experience.
- Comfortable in mapping business questions to data problems.
- Proven experience in stakeholder management, acting as a business partner across different areas.
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases, technologies, languages and visualisation engines (Power BI, Tableau, etc)
- Knowledge of a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations.
- Knowledge of data visualisation and ways to best convey messages to different audiences using qualitative and quantitative insights.

Duties and Responsibilities
Data Mining and Processing:
- Work with organisational stakeholders to identify opportunities to solve business problems by leveraging company data and applying advanced data modelling techniques.
- Mine and analyse data, draw insights and share these effectively across the business to enhance business decision-making and optimise member and commercial business outcomes.
- Research new data sources and analytical tools with the aim of improving the process and underlying data analysis.
- Understand the quality of data and engage with relevant stakeholders to correct data (if and when necessary), thereby ensuring usability is in line with requirements.
Dashboard and Reports Development:
- Design and develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards using tools such as Power BI ensuring accessibility and usability of those dashboards for stakeholders.
- Work with the team to ensure that the Power BI platform is designed to help the organisation to scale.
Data Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain data quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.
- Identify and resolve data anomalies and discrepancies.
- Implement best practices across the company’s data landscape relating to data analysis, business intelligence and data governance principles.
Forecasting and Predictive Modelling:
- Develop forecasting models to predict trends and member/broker behaviours.
- Implement predictive modelling techniques to enhance decision-making processes.
- Interpret trends and patterns in data and provide the business with actionable insights.
- Design metrics to help assess how the business is performing on a day-to-day basis.
Performance Monitoring/ Statistics:
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide regular updates to leadership on data-driven insights i.e.
- Submit Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual stats to Senior Leadership.
- Produce and share divisional monthly reports including Team Manager’s Branch Reports
- Stay abreast of changes to systems, targets, hierarchy and products which affects data for reporting.
- Proactively identify areas for optimization, improvement and automation.
User Support:
- Train other employees in the organization on how to access Data Analytics and how to make the best use of available reports.
Research and Adhoc Analysis:
- Keep up to date with new data assets and products to identify new opportunities, capabilities and trends that would add value to business.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address specific business questions and challenges.
- Proactively identify areas for optimization and improvement.

- Perform similar duties and duties as delegated by the Lime Manager or the Employer.
