Senior Credit Controller (POMONA)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Credit Controller to oversee and manage our company's credit control activities.

POSITION INFO:

The Senior Credit Controller will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing customer accounts, recommending credit limits, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit control and a proven track record in reducing bad debts and improving cash flow.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and analyze customer accounts to identify potential credit risks
2. Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers
3. Establish and recommend credit limits based on customer payment history and financial status
4. Chase overdue invoices and escalate collection efforts as necessary
5. Negotiate payment plans with customers to help resolve outstanding debts
6. Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date credit control reports
7. Work closely with sales and customer service teams to resolve credit-related issues
8. Review and approve credit applications in accordance with company policies
9. Provide guidance and training to junior credit control staff
10. Implement strategies to reduce bad debts and improve cash flow

Desired Experience & Qualification

Required Skills:

Qualifications and Experience:

• Min of Matric. Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in finance, accounting, or a related field, advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in credit control or a similar role
• Strong understanding of credit control processes and procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software systems
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional certification in credit management is a plus
