We’re hiring for Senior Commercial Agronomy Specialist based in Ohrigstad, South Africa.

As Senior Commercial Agronomy Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that the required amount of good quality and genetically pure seed is produced by the growers in the required volumes.

As Senior Commercial Agronomy Specialist, you will serve as the primary field contact for location seed production which includes the following:

• Grower management (ex. selection, training, selling the seed contract value, contract management, and support).
• Lead the field selection effort, coordinate field mapping, product placement, and seed field quality control.
• Develop and lead the integrated pest management program, including budget considerations and vendor agreements.
• Supervise field activities and plant operations, perform analysis on production efforts, and prepare and present reports as needed for the assignments undertaken.

You Will Be Part of Growing Team

Produce high-quality seed, corn, soybeans, and sunflowers. Provide internal and external technical support in the development and application of products, processing techniques, and resolution of problems. Under general direction, solve a variety of moderately complex problems.

Your Challenge

• Recruiting, developing, and supporting seed growers (acreage planning, training, quality control) as well as coordinating all field activities (allocations, planting, rouging, pest management, detasseling, defoliation, male removal, yield estimation, harvesting, and conducting research).
• Documentation control and Corteva in-house systems.
• Extensive travel required including weekends during the season.

Supports sales by demonstrating technical applications knowledge of the product and/or technical solutions at the customer.

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

• National Diploma in Agriculture (minimum requirement)
• Ideal: B-Tech or BSc in Agriculture
• Minimum 3 years’ related experience
• SANSOR training/knowledge is an added advantage
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with the farming community
• Driver's license
