Senior Business Analyst

Main focus of the role

We are looking for a self-starting Senior Business Analyst to support StructureIt projects. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, leadership, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on business analysis, delivery management, and strategic capability building.

The successful candidate will work across multiple business domains, ensuring high-quality requirement gathering, solution design, and implementation.

What you'll do

Business Analysis & Solution Design

1. Lead requirement gathering and documentation, translating client needs into functional specifications.
2. Define and document use cases, user stories, process flows, and UI designs.
3. Work closely with the development team to design scalable solutions.
4. Drive feature backlog grooming and prioritization.
5. Ensure that solutions align with business strategy, compliance, and risk management requirements.

Stakeholder & Client Management

1. Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to clients and internal teams.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
3. Support pre-sales efforts and revenue retention by identifying value-driven enhancements.
4. Ensure effective communication and expectation management across all stakeholders.

Delivery & Quality Management

1. Work with QA teams to define test cases and ensure system testing meets business needs.
2. Generate appropriate Acceptance criteria and support Unit testing and demo script preparation as preparations for UAT.
3. Lead peer reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards across all BA deliverables.
4. Identify and mitigate risks in solution implementation.
5. Ensure timely and accurate information flow between all project stakeholders.
6. Deliver work at a Level 4 initiative, operating independently with minimal supervisory support.

Domain Expertise & Cross-Application Engagement

1. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the domain and system architecture.
2. Provide thought leadership on best practices for business analysis within financial services.
3. Work across multiple applications, domains, and business units, ensuring cohesive solutions.
4. Act as the "go-to" person for functional and strategic aspects of business analysis.

Strategic Capability Building & Leadership

1. Play a key role in mentoring and coaching junior analysts.
2. Support the recruitment and onboarding of new BAs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
3. Contribute to goal-setting, process improvement, and toolset development within the BA capability.
4. Champion best practices in business analysis, improving methodologies and frameworks.

To fly in your role, you'll need

Technical & Domain Expertise

1. 5+ years of experience in financial services, ideally in a business analysis or solution delivery role.
2. Good experience in being part of project teams and building out solutions from the ground up.
3. Experience working across multiple business applications and domains.

Business & Delivery Skills

1. Proven track record as a lead analyst on projects from inception to delivery.
2. Experience in agile and waterfall project methodologies.
3. Strong ability to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements.
4. Expertise in requirement gathering, user story writing, and feature prioritization.
5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high delivery standards.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

1. Strong communication and presentation skills, able to articulate complex concepts simply.
2. Experience in managing senior stakeholder relationships and influencing decision-making.
3. Ability to operate in a distributed team environment, working across multiple regions.
4. Track record of competency in a client-facing role.
