Senior Auditor

Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Auditor to join our team in Kenilworth, Western Cape.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and auditing, with a comprehensive understanding of both local and international financial regulations.

As a Senior Auditor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting processes, providing valuable insights, and contributing to compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

You will also be responsible for guiding and training junior staff members, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct comprehensive audits for various clients, ensuring compliance with applicable financial regulations and standards.
2. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
3. Utilize software such as CaseWare, Sage, Pastel, and Xero for efficient audit procedures.
4. Train and mentor junior staff, fostering their professional development and enhancing team capabilities.
5. Identify areas for process improvement and assist clients in implementing best practices.
6. Prepare and present detailed audit findings and reports to clients and management.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in legislation and best practices within the auditing profession.
8. Manage auditing projects from conception to completion while ensuring deadlines are met.

Requirements

1. Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree in Accounting or equivalent.
2. Registered with SAICA (South African Institute of Chartered Accountants) as a professional accountant.
3. Proven experience in audit roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar position.
4. Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and relevant audit tools and techniques.
5. Proficiency in CaseWare, Sage, Pastel, Xero, and other relevant accounting software.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
7. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, demonstrating a commitment to accuracy.
8. Access to own transportation is required.
9. Ability and willingness to train and support junior staff members.
