The Project Manager (Banking) will be responsible for managing and delivering medium-sized banking projects from commencement to completion within the agreed scope, budget, and timeline. Projects may include implementations of new banking systems, regulatory compliance initiatives, operational improvements, and technology upgrades, aligning with the overall business strategy of the bank.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Initiation:
Develop comprehensive project plans that outline project objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
Identify and manage project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project goals and expectations.
Conduct initial risk assessment and develop a mitigation plan.
Project Execution and Management:
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
Develop detailed project plans to track progress and ensure milestones are met.
Implement banking-specific best practices and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify potential project risks, especially those related to banking regulations and compliance, and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
Monitor project risks and issues, implementing necessary changes to keep the project on track.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure project deliverables meet the required quality standards and satisfy the project objectives.
Conduct project evaluations and assessments to ensure compliance with standards, regulatory requirements, and customer satisfaction.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring all expenditures are accounted for and stay within budget limits.
Prepare financial reports and forecasts to track project financial performance.
Communication and Reporting:
Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project status, including progress, risks, and issues.
Prepare and deliver project reports, presentations, and documentation as required.
Lead and motivate project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing project environment.
Conduct regular team meetings to review project progress, address issues, and coordinate tasks.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
Additional certifications in banking or finance (e.g., Certified Banking & Credit Analyst) are a plus.
Experience:
Proven experience as a Project Manager, managing medium-sized projects within the banking sector.
Demonstrated experience in managing project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
Knowledge of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
Project delivery experience with Client Risk projects such as Anti Money Laundering, including Client Due Diligence, Watch List Filtering, and Suspicious Activity Monitoring regulatory projects.
Project delivery experience with Product Risk projects such as Enterprise Collections, Debt Management, and Credit Management.
