Assistant Financial Manager / Senior Accountant
A Wholesale Supplier organisation located in Johannesburg is currently looking for an Assistant Financial Manager / Senior Accountant.

Minimum Requirements:
An Accounting Degree + SAICA Articles is mandatory for this role. This role also requires staff management.

The successful individual will have about 5-7 people reporting to them.

Experience Requirements:
Experience working on advanced MS Excel is a requirement in terms of the VLOOKUP function as well as experience working with Pivot Tables.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Step in and take over the management of the finance department
2. Managing a Finance Team of about 5 to 7 people
3. Managing the general ledger as a whole and its structure
4. Approving journals
5. Approving payments - monthly creditors and ad hoc weekly payments
6. Reviewing creditor reconciliations
7. Enforcing financial policies and controls
8. IFRS experienced (including for SME's)
9. Calculating income tax
10. Managing tax affairs of the company
11. Managing CIPC compliance
12. Compiling annual financial statements (AFS) for 4 legal entities and one simple group consolidation
13. Monthly financial accounts and reporting

Desired Experience & Qualification:

1. Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a similar role
2. Relevant Accounting Degree plus SAICA Articles is a mandatory requirement
3. Bookkeeping Certificate would be highly advantageous
4. Strong MS Excel Skills
5. Experience working on Syspro would be a huge advantage
