Qualifications

• High school diploma and additional six (6) months of related advanced study or technical training.
• Two (2) years of experience in the locksmith trade.
• Must possess a valid state driver's license and obtain a valid Florida driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion.
• Certification from an accepted Locksmith Association, i.e. American Locksmiths of America (ALOA), Society of Professional Locksmiths, Institutional Locksmiths’ Association (ILA), Security Locksmith Association (SLA), or similar, or obtain within one (1) year of hire or promotion.
• Manufacturer product training/certification, i.e., Schlage Primus, LenelS2 OnGuard, Assa Abloy, Best Keystone, Kaba, Ilco, or obtain within one (1) year of hire or promotion.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs skilled, technical and manual work involving the installation and repair of both electronic and mechanical locking mechanisms.
• Manages and implements a registered and secure master key system, installs and maintains electronic lock and security systems, doors, and hardware; and provides security and safety for the City of Cape Coral including the Charter School System, complying with the American Disabilities Act (ADA) and other regulatory statutes or agencies.
• Generates Work Orders through facilities management software and assigns to personnel as applicable.
• Performs other related duties as required.
