The Section Engineer Production, with an 18 month planning horizon. The role ensures effective and safe maintenance and construction linked to the Operational Area of responsibility. The Section Engineer Production is a GMR 2(1) appointment in terms of the OHS Act.

Job Description

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Recommend:

• Maintenance of assets
• Site specific standard
• Budget Management

Input:

• Major shutdowns

Decide:

• Plant projects (within limit of authority)

Execute:

• Legal compliance responsibilities
• Manage plant rotables
• Carry out 1st, 2nd and 3rd line maintenance at plant
• Plant projects
• Construct, install and maintain electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment

This role is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Senior Manager Engineering.

Qualifications

• Engineering related degree – BSc Engineering
• BSc/BEng in Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage
• Government Certificate of competency – Factories is preferred

Experience

• Five years post Engineering qualification experience
• Experience in an Electrical role will be an added advantage

Knowledge and Skills

• Basic computer literacy
• Proficiency in English
