Job Title: Secretary General of the Office of the Chief Justice

Location: Gauteng, Johannesburg

• Requirements:
• Applicants must hold an undergraduate qualification and a postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) as recognized by SAQA. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience at Senior Management level is required.
• Attributes:
• Demonstrated leadership in policy development and high-level policy implementation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of the South African Judiciary and applicable legislation.
• Familiarity with Government legislation, policies, and priorities.
• Understanding of the Public Sector's structure and operations.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, teamwork, and networking skills.

Duties:

• Serve as Accounting Officer for the National Government Department: Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ), ensuring optimal resource deployment and utilization to achieve strategic objectives.
• Coordinate and organize OCJ resources to implement the National Development Plan (NDP) and Medium-Term Strategic Framework (MTSF) priorities.
• Provide strategic direction and management through coordinating strategic vision and direction, leading support tool development, and reporting to oversight bodies.
• Strengthen governance, compliance, and organizational capacity to deliver on mandate.
• Offer strategic advisory services to the Chief Justice as Head of the Judiciary and Constitutional Court.
• Direct Superior Courts administration systems improvement and establishment of relevant structures and systems.
• Provision secretariat and advisory support to the Chief Justice on inter-judicial relations and government matters.
