The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association aims to transform tomorrow’s medicine through our discoveries of today. At locations in Berlin-Buch, Berlin-Mitte, Heidelberg and Mannheim, our researchers harness interdisciplinary collaboration to decipher the complexities of disease at the systems level – from molecules and cells to organs and the entire organism. Job Description

• Develop novel approaches to better understand protein synthesis within three-dimensional, physiologically relevant environments through genome editing, degron approaches, synthetic biology, and single-cell activity-based screening.
• Characterize engineered cells using techniques such as flow cytometry and molecular biology assays.
• Collaborate with other members of the team to integrate new methods into our current workflows.
• Analyse and interpret data, prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and interact with industry collaborations.

• PhD in cell biology, biotechnology, molecular biology or related field.
• Expertise in mammalian cell culture, iPSCs, and genome editing techniques.
• Strong background in molecular biology techniques and next generation sequencing-based methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
