As Scheduler you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Consistently apply Safety and Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
Ensure alignment with the Group Scheduling Standards for each phase (definition of what is required from a basis of estimate perspective).
Assisting with the development of the WBS.
Prepare Basis of Schedule for each stage of the project.
Provide / validate benchmarks of durations.
Coordinate with all relevant project team members and stakeholders to define schedule requirements (accuracy, sequencing, and level of activity decomposition).
Resource loading where applicable.
Progress tracking and trending by application of Earned Value principles (on-site).
Establish required interfacing (human and technical) to ensure alignment of all contractor schedules with the Master Schedule.
Identify and communicate any schedule conflicts, resource constraints, time constraints, etc to the (Senior) Project Manager.
QA of the data collection process (onsite).
Effective (audience-focused) communication of key messages.
This role is in the Strategy & Business Development (SBD) discipline at a band 6 level reporting to the Manager Project Controls & CE (Growth / SIB).
Qualifications:
Grade 12
Technical Diploma in Project Management / Planning
SA Drivers License
Experience:
Knowledge of the Anglo American Operating model (esp. Scheduling process)
Knowledge of crucial value drivers across the mining value chain and the interdependence therein.
Computer Literacy (MS Office, Projects, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Knowledge of the mining industry and relevant legislation, including the Mine Health and Safety Act.
Knowledge of basic financial metrics, cost, value management and budgeting tools.
Mining and related operations environment.
Technical Areas – Geology, Mining Metallurgy and Engineering.
Projects Environment.
Demonstrated proficiency in using PM tools and computer-based scheduling systems.
