Hire Resolve’s client is currently looking for a talented Engineer Technologist specializing in Water & Sanitation to join their team in Johannesburg.
Responsibilities:
Support the design and preparation of preliminary and final plans for water and sanitation designs of bulk water networks, storm & pump station design, urban drainage design, and water resource planning and management.
Provide support in the estimation of project cost, drawing up of contracts, and developing specifications for labour, material, and equipment.
Assist in the development of preliminary engineering treatments to determine construction feasibility and estimated cost.
Prepare final layout drawings and stress calculations.
Investigate construction methods best suited to soil types encountered.
Assist in the survey, staking, layout, and inspection of construction projects.
Provide support in the set-up of project and project meetings.
Provide support with project reviews, quality assurance, cost control, health & safety, and invoicing of the project.
Prepare a close-out report.
Ensure and drive cost control and cost savings in the project.
Apply and adhere to all quality management procedures.
Adhere to cost management measures.
Plans:
Project and construction documentation.
Engineering investigations.
Project & cost monitoring.
Communication with stakeholders.
Set-up of construction and health & safety of the project.
Project close-out.
Cost management.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Civil / Environmental Engineering or a related field.
Professional registration as an Engineer / Technologist with relevant regulatory bodies.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and sanitation engineering.
Proven experience in the design and management of water and sanitation projects.
Proficiency in relevant design software and tools.
Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of sustainability principles and practices is a plus.
