Sales Representative

Our client, a reputable business in the generator industry, is currently looking to hire a Sales Representative to join their growing team in East London, Eastern Cape.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Achieve agreed profitability targets
  2. Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with current and future customers
  3. Expedite and follow-up on the successful resolution of customer problems
  4. Reach out to customer leads through cold-calling
  5. Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments
  6. Weekly customer visits
  7. Monthly customer outings
  8. One-week country trip every month
  9. Travel, develop, and maintain brand presence in neighbouring countries
  10. Achieve short- and long-term sales targets
  11. Perform cost-benefit analysis of existing and potential clients
  12. Maintain positive business relationships to ensure future sales

Marketing and Competitive Analysis

  1. Quarterly competitor pricing comparison
  2. Monthly submission of market analysis
  3. Research, report, and keep abreast of market conditions
  4. Investigate and understand the organizational structure of clients
  5. Report on competitor activity, developments, and pricing

Administration

  1. Ensure timely and accurate completion of enquiries, quotes, and tenders
  2. Timely loading of sales orders
  3. Timely completion of all internal administration
  4. Assist accounts personnel with the collection of outstanding payments
  5. Preparation and distribution of marketing and sales aids
  6. Provide timely stock verification information on equipment on site
  7. Completion of weekly and monthly reports
  8. Compliance with all reasonable instructions
  9. No outstanding debtors amount in excess of 45 days
  10. Customer surveys within 5 days of last delivery

Desired Experience & Qualification

  1. Grade 12
  2. BCom Degree in Marketing Management or equivalent (advantageous)
  3. Minimum 3 years' sales representative experience in the generator industry or commercial and industrial markets
  4. Own car and driver's license
  5. Fully computer literate in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  6. Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when required
