Job Title: Sales Representative Hospitality (FMCG)

Department: Sales and Marketing
Reports To: Sales Manager
Location: Cape Town Area

Job Purpose:

To drive sales growth within the hospitality sector by promoting and selling a range of high-quality food products to hotels, restaurants, and catering businesses. The Sales Representative will develop and maintain strong client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Acquisition and Management:
    • Identify and target potential clients within the hospitality industry, including hotels, restaurants, and catering services.
    • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
    • Conduct regular client visits to understand their needs and present suitable product solutions.
  2. Sales Strategy and Execution:
    • Achieve and exceed sales targets and performance metrics as set by the Sales Manager.
    • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to maximize product penetration in the market.
    • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
  3. Market Analysis and Reporting:
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and challenges.
    • Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to management, detailing sales activities, pipeline status, and market insights.
  4. Product Knowledge and Promotion:
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company's product offerings and their applications within the hospitality sector.
    • Coordinate and participate in promotional activities, trade shows, and events to enhance product visibility and generate leads.
  5. Customer Service:
    • Ensure timely and effective resolution of customer inquiries and issues.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of sales experience in the FMCG sector, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field (advantageous).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of the hospitality sector and its procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must reside in the Cape Town area.
  • Presentable and professional appearance.
  • Small basic salary with a large commission structure.

  • Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Number of new clients acquired.
  • Client retention rates.
  • Customer satisfaction levels.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of sales reports and forecasts.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires regular travel to client locations within the Cape Town area and may involve attending events outside of standard business hours.
