To represent Assa Abloy Opening Solutions by performing a sales and service function to the SA Commercial customer channels.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Regular customer sales & service calls in accordance with your call cycle.
- Placement of stock orders to achieve sales targets.
- Liaison between internal admin and customers on all queries (sales, technical, logistics, stock etc).
- Back-order maintenance & updates to optimize volumes (stock level accuracy, pricing, ranging, etc).
- Communication & execution of agreed Key Account activities negotiated by BU Manager with H / O buyers (promotional campaigns, special projects, new product launches & stock upliftment).
- Customer relationship management with key decision-makers (Buyer, Dept. to secure additional orders and deals under the guidance of the BU Manager & problem resolution.
- Measurement of success of campaigns and promotions.
- Report writing, proposals & access of ERPLX information to facilitate customer service management.
- Daily customer contact reports.
- To maximize the product solutions of all Assa Abloy products (locks, padlocks, safes, alarms, door furniture, Smart Electronics etc.) through identifying opportunities to expand sales growth.
- Distribute marketing material; provide training & technical support at end user level.
- To provide support with promotions and other sales activities to drive business growth (this may include representation at branches over weekends & public holidays).
- To update pricing and maintain customer master listings together with timeous implementation of price increases.
- Assessment & collection of valid returns and repairs in accordance with the Assa Abloy Returns policy.
- To provide feedback on relevant market information and new business development.
- Any other activities and new initiatives which enhance the development & growth of the Assa Abloy Group brands.
Professional Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification (Advantageous).
- Proven track record of achieving sales growth, introducing new products, and developing new and existing sales channels.
- Ability to assist channel partners with specifications where alternative solutions are required.
- Excellent leadership, analytical skills, and business acumen.
- Strong solution selling skills.
- Clear communicator, whether verbal, written, or in presentations.
- Demonstrates ability to listen and build effective working relationships.
- Knowledge of the industry and market (an advantage).
- Team player with strong work ethics, able to work with minimal supervision.
- A self-confident and committed person, with a positive outlook.
- Flexible and open-minded.
- A strategic thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Good selling skills.
- Experience at a similar level and in a similar role.

- Must be willing to travel extensively.

- Computer literacy (Outlook and Excel).
- Ability to work under pressure and travel extensively; frequent overnight stays required.
- Vehicle in good working order.
- Good knowledge of the geographical area.
- Good knowledge of the retail security industry.
- Technical acumen (Basic networking knowledge, understanding of jargon, and comfortable with installation & setup of programs / apps, e.g., pairing devices with IP settings).
