JOB OBJECTIVE(S)
Maintain, develop and grow sales in a defined geographical area or per defined customer list, by visiting customers as well as processing quotes, orders and doing after-sale service.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  1. Knowledge
  • Grade 12
  • Driver’s License
  • PC Literate
  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience
  • Sales & Marketing experience / qualification advantageous
  • Exceptional track record within operating market
  • 1 Month on-the-job training

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Exceeding External sales and client growth targets of allocated customers.
    2. Sales of entire product portfolio through providing product solutions addressing client needs and support for all company pumps:
    • Magnetic drive chemical pumps
    • All Prime – self priming pumps
    • Submersible Drainage pumps
    • Robuschi Blowers and Vacuum pumps
    • Tuthill and Petroland Gear pumps
  • Supported by internal sales staff, growing large customer base, providing client problem solutions and service delivery enhancing customer loyalty through exceptional service, relationships and solutions delivery.
  • To never lose a sale!
  • PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    1. Achieve and exceed yearly sales budget.
    2. Present customer quotations and tenders.
    3. Receive customer orders.
    4. Attend to customer queries.
    5. Follow-up with existing customers on stock and/or services required.
    6. Sell products and services.
    7. Provide after sale service to customers.
    8. Develop relationships and build a sound and extensive client base.
    9. Liaise with and visit customers to ensure relationship is maintained.
    10. Maintain weekly proper records of all call activities including a customer database containing addresses, telephone numbers etc.
    11. Complete Monthly Quote feedback report.
    12. Submit monthly vehicle Logbook timeously.
    13. Refer all sales leads for other products to the relevant Sales person.
    14. Ensure calls are conducted in the most efficient and cost effective manner, as planned.
    15. Assist in stock take & related admin activities.
    16. Be aware of stock levels to ensure that minimum stock holding is maintained – participate in sales forecasting.
    17. Handle all complaints in a professional manner and refer serious complaints.
    18. Attend to ad hoc tasks as required or requested by management.
    19. Subscribe to company values.

    1. Client feedback.
    2. Sales forecasting.
    3. Meeting of sales targets.
    4. Meeting of deadlines and reporting.

    WHAT SUCCESS WILL LOOK LIKE:

    1. A professional image is maintained.
    2. Clients are impressed by service and efficiency.
    3. Sales targets are exceeded.
    4. Zero defect with regard to processing.
    5. No orders are returned / corrected.
    6. Stock available when needed.
    7. Growth of customer database.

    IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIPS:

    1. Constant interaction and team relationship with line Manager, Sales colleagues, Warehouse etc.
    2. Constant contact and interaction with the Clients and suppliers.

    PROBLEM SOLVING:

    Needs to exercise judgment based on data and logic within set parameters and guidelines. Daily processing occurs within set procedures. Diplomacy needed when dealing with clients and suppliers.
