Description

The VCIC Division in Cape Town seeks a Sales Representative to manage variable consumables interventional cardiology product portfolios with a focus on sales in private and government sectors. This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years medical experience in private and government sectors in the Western Cape is required.
• Theatre and Cath-Lab experience is mandatory.
• Established relationships with private and government hospitals are essential.
• A valid Driver's license and own reliable vehicle are necessary.
• The ideal candidate must be a South African Citizen.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve customers by selling products and meeting their needs.
• Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
• Meet sales targets by adjusting content of sales presentations based on type of sales outlet or trade factor.
• Focusing sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
• Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
• Maintain management informed by submitting activity and results reports.
• Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information.
• Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
• Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Ideal Candidate Attributes/Experience

• A medical background and relevant hospital experience would be advantageous.
• Show growth in a developing territory and ability to build relationships with customers.
• Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
• Computer literacy and sales skills.
• Meeting sales goals and targets, territory management, self-confidence, and motivation for sales.
