Our client in the logistics sector is seeking a dynamic Sales Representative with excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and good numeracy skills to join their team.

The purpose of this role is to develop and initiate a sales approach that results in closing new business opportunities to support the overall business and growth thereof.

Location: Durban

Job type: Full time - must be prepared to travel extensively

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain and expand the existing client base in the local courier and distribution market for the assigned region, meeting set monthly and annual new business targets.
  2. Prospect for new business, cultivate a qualified leads pipeline, and convert leads into sustainable billing clients.
  3. Manage client relationships, including new clients where applicable.
  4. Provide monthly billing and financial reports to stakeholders.
  5. Handle general administrative tasks, including daily sales analysis and weekly reporting to the Regional New Business Sales Manager.
  6. Keep client data up-to-date and acquire new accounts.
  7. Continuously monitor competitors and industry trends.
  8. Assist in tender and proposal preparation, including presentations.
  9. Achieve monthly and cumulative targets.
  10. Communicate and implement signed business agreements with stakeholders.
  11. Manage clients' debtor days within company requirements.
  12. Identify cross-silo solutions and collaborate with other department heads for successful partnerships.
  13. Update and maintain the internal CRM system.
  14. Achieve the expected client call ratio KPI as specified.
  15. Provide day-to-day and weekly/monthly reporting as needed or requested by the Sales Manager.
  16. Ensure client files are regularly updated in compliance with company procedures and Quality Management System.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Valid unendorsed driver's license with a reliable vehicle (mandatory).
  2. 2-3 years of senior key account management and new business sales experience in logistics.
  3. Proven track record in prospecting for new business and meeting targets.
  4. Tender management expertise and ability to sell cross-silo solutions to C-level executives.
  5. Strong grasp of logistics and end-to-end supply chain.
  6. Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings.
